We want everyone to learn more about the archives at Emma Willard, and also give some fun facts and information about the archives.

Project Goal

We’re going to have a few episodes, each one focusing on one letter. Technology is a pretty big part of our project since we’re going to be recording podcast episodes. We’ll also be using some art, since we’re designing the archive website. And we’re obviously focusing on history and literature, since we’re looking at letters from Emma Willard’s time.

  • Started reading about Emma Willard
  • Looked at documents about Dr. Christopher Yates

December Updates

  • Started background research for the first 2 episodes
  • Read online documents about Dr. Yates
  • Brainstormed ideas for the episodes

January Updates

  • Finished the script for the 2nd episode
  • Finalized the structure of the podcast
  • Researched Emma Willard’s marriage & letters to Ms. Pawling

February Updates

  • Recorded the 2nd episode on Emma Willard’s letters
  • Worked on the scripts for episodes 2 & 3
  • Edited the episodes for better quality
